Greg West

Greg West is a co-founder and Director of Surat Basin Developments and the inaugural Chairman of the Surat Basin Regional Development Corporation. As a fourth-generation member of the Chinchilla community, he is passionate about ensuring the region enjoys sustainable growth for future generations to enjoy.

Greg recently completed a two year role as President of the Chinchilla Economic and Tourism Development Association (CETDA) and has been actively involved with the Chinchilla Chamber of Commerce since the early 1990's. During his time as president of the CETDA, the organisation hosted two major Surat Basin conferences in Chinchilla to inform the community and local businesses about the potential of the Surat Basin Energy Province.

Greg is also a part owner of Surat Basin Homes, the driver behind many of the region's most exciting and innovative residential, industrial and commercial developments.

Greg comes from a diverse business background, which has included owning a business software and training company, to running a major retail operation with more than 200 employees. Prior to joining the business sector he was an Aeronautical Engineer working on the FA/18 Hornet aircraft.

Warren Daniells

As a co-founder and Director of Surat Basin Developments (SBD), Warren Daniells key strengths are his passion for business and the success of others around him. Prior to establishing SBD, Warren worked for 20 years in the retail and commercial sectors as the owner of numerous supermarkets and other businesses. During this period he was also a Board member representing the retailers who launched IGA Supermarkets in Queensland and across Australia.

Warren brings to the company almost a decade of experience in the real estate industry, culminating as the founding principal of Chinchilla First National Real Estate before selling the company to his business partner in 2007. His involvement in the Chinchilla real estate industry has provided him with a thorough understanding of property marketing and development, underpinned by strong local knowledge.

Warren is a Board member of Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc which has been established to assist the community to position itself as the region grows. He is also a part owner of Surat Basin Homes, the driver behind many of the region's most exciting and innovative residential, industrial and commercial developments.

James Strongman

James (Jim) joined Surat Basin Developments as Business Development Manager in August 2009 and is based in Brisbane. He brings to the team almost two decades’ experience in the property sector and established industry networks, underpinned by an excellent understanding of the residential and commercial property sectors.

Jim is closely involved in the company’s expansion in the Surat Basin, with a particular focus on industrial and commercial projects. His local knowledge of these sectors has been strengthened by his own investment and experience as a joint venture partner in the development of Chinchilla Central shopping centre and the award-winning Glasson Villas, also in Chinchilla.

Jim brings to the role considerable experience acting on behalf of both private and corporate clients across Australia in the areas of acquisitions, leasing negotiations, project ‘packaging’ and managed disposals.

Jim is a licensed real estate agent, a former licensed securities dealer (property syndications) and a property developer. Prior to joining Surat Basin Developments, he worked as a buyer’s advocate, syndicate manager and investment analyst in Queensland and spent eight years as a Director of Mann Judd Properties Ltd, an unlisted public company associated with an international accountancy group.
